Research and patents at the University of Basrah aim to find innovative solutions with a far-reaching impact to many of the challenges facing Iraq in general and Basra Governorate in particular.  The university's interests lie in many fields, the most important of which are: education, health, agriculture, livestock, renewable energy, technologies, programming and computer language, pollution in all its forms, and space exploration.  The focus on research in these areas contributes to achieving the university's vision of 2022, which is based on research and invention as a basis for development and innovation.
